Eneco and Roamler have together created a new platform for technical tasks

25 MARCH 2016, AMSTERDAM / ROTTERDAM (THE NETHERLANDS)
Summary
Eneco and Roamler have joined together to include technical tasks through means of the Roamler app users. Thereby, both companies are beginning a new platform: Roamler Tech

Eneco and Roamler have come together to offer technical jobs in the home by means of the Roamler app users. Thereby, both companies have started a new platform: Roamler Tech. Eneco has placed the first task on the new platform: the installation of its intelligent thermostat Toon. In The Hague, the platform has already been successfully tested.

Roamler gives smartphone owners the opportunity to earn money by performing simple tasks. The company is based in the retail market, where users of the Roamler app (‘Roamlers’) can get a financial reward by, for instance, sending in photos of specific shelving in supermarkets. Business clients such as Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble use this information as a way to test the quality of their contracts with supermarkets.

The Hague Pilot

Roamler has for a long time had the ambition to expand to the inclusion of more complex tasks. That’s why Eneco and Roamler have been testing this in The Hague since the autumn of 2015, where Roamlers have installed a large amount of Toon thermostats. The trial yielded a great appreciation from the Eneco customers, mostly attributed to the fact that, through Roamler, the Toon thermostats were installed within two days of the order having being placed. In addition, customers of the Roamler app can choose from short time periods when the installer can come by. In this way, the customer doesn’t need to remain home for more than two hours.

Ambitions

Jeroen ten Haave, the CEO of Roamler: “We are very proud that, together with Eneco, we can offer installation work opportunities on our mobile platform besides our retail activities. In this manner, we take a big step toward achieving our mission; changing the way that people work. Nearby, when you choose, and for a fair reward.” For Eneco, working with Roamler fulfils their ambition to make Toon an international, leading platform. Hans Valk, the director of Innovation and Ventures: “This collaboration gives us the chance to increase the pace of installations of Toon and products which work with Toon, such as smoke detectors and Philips Hue-lamps. In the Netherlands, but also in the 14 other countries where Roamler is active.”

Roamler Tech

Today, both companies agreed on their collaboration on the new platform Roamler Tech. The first task was placed by Eneco – the installation of Toon. Roamler Tech will search for other business clients which can also offer similar tasks for in and around the house in this manner.
